Fuel Pump Relay
As my saga continues; I checked and definately do not hear the pump running. The fuse keeps blowing once I stop cranking the car so I wanted to check the relay before I go ahead and replace the entire pump. 2 questions: 1) where is the relay located and 2) can I test this item just like i would test a fuse?

first of all, it's important to know what a relay does. it mechanically switches power, a low current requirement throws the switch, which allows a higher current to pass.
The fuel pump relay is extremely simple, and failure is rare, but yes it can be tested, however it's different from testing a fuse.
My suggestion would be to take a piece of wire and bypass the relay (which will cause the fuel pump to receive power continuously), and see if the fuse still blows. Im sure it will.

exactly. for the relay to be causing the problem, it would have to be internally shorting to ground
rare if not impossible.
Wrap the fuse in tin foil and see if it works then. KIDDING!!!!

I swear if it weren't guys like you 3 and others...I would have been back to Japanese cars...
Funny I spent last night trouble shooting a boosted 350z...although I understand my problem could have happened to any car...its just how I justify it LOL!
