Default FYI: Good alignment shop in mid-NJ for stock suspension

I just had my alignment done at a place in North Brunswick NJ called the "Tire Barn". Now don't laugh--there aren't any manure slinging cow pokes fiddling with cheap no-name wrenches from Taiwan.
;-)

They have the latest Hunter alignment system (DSP600), which features practically fool proof technology. AND they don't charge you an arm and a leg for using it ($59 for full 4-wheel alignment).

After the job (tire mounting and alignment took 1 hour), I took the TT out on the highway--smooth as glass and perfect tracking all the way up and past the legal limit. Of course, I'm expecting that they got the caster and camber right given the machinery they used. I wish there was some way to verify rather than waiting for uneven tire wear.

Anyway, just thought I'd share my good experience (so far), in case there's any local folks looking for a reasonably priced alignment job.

Btw, I had a set of Avon Tech M550 A/S installed ($105 at Tire Rack), since a few board members recommended them. I have to agree that they are nicely quiet and smooth while still retaining excellent handling characteristics. A very good all-around tire for the price.

Default $59 is very inexpensive for AWD alignment...

did you get a print out of the specs they dialed it to? just so that you can verify what they did.

Default Good point - I'll have to get that from them

The Hunter system should have all of the diagnostic data from the alignment session -- I should have asked for that. I'm going to swing by to get that from them; thanks for mentioning!

Default its good reference to have...and besides, its better that you know what the alignment

was done at...just in case you want to make some minor tweaks here and there.
