I was going to get a 3".. but it's not necessary unless you are super modified..
I am part of a downpipe project of both 2.5" and 3" (search archives) and the results are that a 2.5" is probably better than a 3" downpipe for most the cars out there. Unless you have a super flowing high-powered car (Stage 3, upgraded turbo, etc)... then 2.5 will serve you just fine...

I'm trying to twist Todd's arm to build me a 2.75" DP...split the difference...and besides, most
catbacks are 2.75"...why not go 2.75" all the way!?
You like the 2.5" DP? and think its the way to go? no turbo overspooling?

Hey Bill... I got dynoed today with the 2.5" DP....and
needless to say I am VERY pleased with the results!!!!!!!
I have all the graphs in my car, just need to scan them and i'll post them later tonight...

Yes, the 2.5" DP put down better numbers...
The 2.5" "average" numbers are better then the 3" "peak" numbers.
As Eric will show when he gets the charts posted for me as the work computer is down.
Again Eric's car could have the 2.5" "peak" numbers as an "average" If he gets his A/F to match that of when he had his "peak " run. This was done after the ecu was cleared to see what the ecu would do to the A/F, and after a couple of runs the ecu reset it self back to what it had been, a little on the lean side.
We discovered a very interesting thing about the ecu by doing this today that can be discussed later.
For those that do not know or will not remember.
Eric has a GIAC-x chip, CAI, bigger maf, 4-bar fpr, 2.5" cat-back, & 2.5" DP with a high flow 400 cell catalytic converter.

WHOA... I didn't look at the price before... that's quie 'spensive!
3" isn't optimal for your car though... look for my post later on regarding my dyno's with both a 2.5" DP and 3" DP.... my dyno today with the 2.5" proved itself to be a better setup for our cars (w/ similar mods)!!

nice...as Danny predicted....no overspooling of the stock K04 turbo.
makes sense...although my common sense is to say, 2.75" all the way back, since my cat back with resonator is 2.75" as well.
