Default good morning, everyone... help with my trunk trim fabric?

Searched and FAQ'd to no avail, the fabric trim on my trunk is just falling off! Is this just from sitting in summer heat every day that the fabric glue has evaporated? It's annoying, it stretches, even when I tuck it all back under the latch, the concave parts are just sagging down. yuck! Do I just buy fabric glue and re-do it? How do I take it off? Not a great way to start Friday morning... TIA!

^^ and is that supposed to be orange? Texture almost seemed like rust, but I'm not sure if that was the glue or simply the backside of the fabric (perhaps padding/insulation, etc) ?

Default I have never successfully popped that panel off. I only tried once!

when i was taking apart my interior i would find that you would have to pull till you thought you were going to break something, then pull some more. i remember guys talking about buying these panels new a while back, but if your going to do suede headliner or the such anyway this is a good excuse to get started kenni!

BTW I'm @ work again! finally back in the game of life this week. That's why I haven't been out. Although last night was a really ruff night...

Ahh $370! I'll try gluing, at least I know I have the option of ordering. Thanks!

Default Haha while standing outside my first thought was actually, Doug would be able to get this off...

I'll try to take it off... If it breaks then I'll see what else I can do. I know you're busy but if you're ever just doing garage time or want to go grab a bite let me know. I leave on Thursday.

Default I peeled it off, then attacked the piece with goo gone and a sander.

Spray painted it black and reinstalled.

it's ~$50 less if you set up a wholesale account

Default There is a plastic screw inside the handle. You have to remove that first.

You will likely need to buy a new fastener. Mine broke.

Default That's not a bad idea. If I can't salvage the fabric I'll look into that...

did you just yank out the panel by pulling away from the tabs near the window? Are there any wires/bolts from spoiler, etc, that are exposed now that you have no fabric cover?

Thanks for your input!
