Got a couple of calls from Audi regarding my delayed 3.2...
For those who care and missed the saga, Audi agreed to buy back my 225 TTR in April or May. They built the replacement 3.2 TTR back in mid-August, then it missed 3 boats for whatever reason.
It made it to the Port of San Diego about 5 weeks ago, but a manufacturer's hold was put on my TT and others due to a problem with the DSG tranny for certain build weeks. Apparently, that problem has now been addressed and resolved.
So last week, I was told that it would be released yesterday. I scheduled a SoCal TT Club meeting for this Sat to not only do an overdue get together, but also to afford an opportunity for interested 180 and 225 owners to check out the new 3.2.
But they didn't release it yesterday, nor have they released it today.
I got a call from Audi today, stating that they hoped to be able to get me the car "sometime around the first part of December". Not only do we have our SoCal TT Club meeting this Sat (November 29th), but I am leaving the country for about 10 days "around the first part of December".
Got another call from Audi today saying that they are trying to get it released from port and transported to the dealership and they "hope" to get it to me this week, maybe by Friday.
We'll see what happens. Wonder what the odds are that they can make it so?

Just remind them of the delays in missing 3 boats and now it's at port
you want it before Friday - they CAN make this happen, they have to prove it. Hope you can get it in time Brad

I do believe that the fellow I've been working with is trying hard...
I think he's doing all that he can, and I am doing my best to stay on top of things.

Actually...
They're using giant rubber bands for the DSG tranny. I believe that they have reserved the styrofoam transmission for the next generation TT, but I am not at liberty to share the details at this time.
Let's just say that the weight savings should add a considerable amount of power to an already potent package!

If I remember correctly from earlier posts, he is giving back...
a 2001 with approximately 60k miles and about $2k cash for the 3.2. I wouldn't get too upset waiting under a scenario like that.
