Default Greetings, and a few questions

Hey guys, I just joined the TT family. I bought a 2000 Quattro TT a couple weeks ago. Gave up a 99 A4 at the end of April to some lack of sleep, and a guardrail.

The TT is in really nice shape, but there are a few problems that have popped up since the test drive when I first looked it over. First, the fuel gauge doesn't seem to read right. The fuel light comes on at the 1/4 tank mark, and when the tank is full, the needle reads off the high end of the gauge. Is there a way to calibrate this? The other problem I have is the speedo. Works fine accelerating, but slowing down the needle seems to stick, or maybe a better description would be stepping, it goes in roughly 5mph increments.
The dealer replaced the coolent temp gauge, Im wondering if they were a little rough in the process, and screwed up the speedo and fuel gauge.

I guess I should also ask, is there anything special I should know about removing the instrument cluster before I go and screw up anything else?

Thanks

Matt

Default Take to dealer let them deal with it if you have an extended warranty. and to anwer >>>

your other statement, no it's not the individual gauges that are the problem, it's the instrument cluster. Many here have had multiple cluster replacements on earlier models.

no warranty, just the 30 day lemon law thing, and that doesn't cover instruments. Guess I just deal with it for now.

Thanks for the help.

Default how old is the battery?

if it is a few years old, that might be the problem. If it's not the problem, you should get one anyway.

Just had my cluster replaced, and it took care of all fuel gauge problems.
