I did a search, and there was a lot of talk about doing it, but no actual info on whether anyone has gone through with it.

I'd really like to put a screen there, but there isn't enough clearance.

Just trying to find out if it is possible at all before I had up the glove box and find out it's not.

Any pictures, help, install instructions, ideas...anything....will be greatly appreciated

I fabbed up a mount similar to gadgett and attached the screen to it. So basically the screen sits square between two center vents and can easily be removed if need be. I think this is the best place by far to mount it without having to butcher up the dash or removing the stereo. I was in the same boat...trying to keep the stock stereo in place. Over all I'm very happy with the way it looks. I'll post some pics within a week.
