Has anyone removed the front license plate bracket? Was the paint intact underneath? Holes?
I am in a state which requires a front license plate and a plastic bracket was already on the car when I took delivery. I am moving to a state which doesnt need a front plate, and am thinking of taking the whole ugly thing off. My question is, is the paint underneath intact and are there rivet holes or anything underneath?
Alternatively, is there any license plate that would fit the aesthetics of the car. (I was thinking of a plate with Audi Rings made of some type of brushed metal or chrome)
Thanks for any advice!
Rick.

How to remove front plate bracket and make it look flush....
you need a special screw driver to the the screws out. Once out, there WILL be 2 holes there. You can simply go the dealer and buy a 50 dollars front license valence and replace the existing one with holes. I have both with and with/o holes so I can swap. HTH
JasonC

Found out Audi dealers install black license plate bracket two different ways...
on my 225C the thing was screwed in with 4! screws and on the 225R they pop riveted that bracket...the latter requires drilling out the center of the pop rivet. Regardless, the valance insert is destroyed so can replace by ordering from Claire Auto Parts (seem to have best price) and then getting it painted (be sure to have your car's paint CODE not just it spoken color. Where do you live in Va. ? Also do you know how to remove the valance...there is technique so that you don't mess up the front bumper assembly.
