Default Have you ever heard of a U.S. Audi dealer doing this?...

Mayur of the UK Forum special ordered a 3.2. He paid an extra $2728 USD equivalent, but they screwed up the order and delivered the 3.2 in Silver instead of the Amethyst Grey that he had special ordered.

So the dealer re-ordered the 3.2 in the appropriate color, gave him a *new* 3.2 to drive until the new one is built and delivered, and refunded the $2728 special order fee.

Sounds pretty generous to me, though I'd hate to be the one who bought the "loaner" 3.2 after he returns it. I doubt I'd be too gentle on it.

Ever heard of a U.S. Audi dealer providing this sort of response? I haven't.

Apparently the U.K. dealers want repeat customers, which US dealers mostly don't seem to care about.

Default I agree.... but....

Dealers suck here.... and they have no motivation to change because AoA keeps paying them and doesn't do much if anything to make them change, but along the same lines, you could also blame Audi Germany for not kicking AoA's ***.

Default Well, you pay through the nose and a$$ in the UK for a car, so

the dealers over there can be a bit generous.

I don't know why the same car costs so much in England than in Germany.

Maybe someone here can enlighten me.

Default From what I've read you can get a non UK car from neighboring countries

and drive it back to UK for much less. But you're basicly screwed in terms of warranty & service from the UK dealers. Also non UK cars, the steering wheel in on the wrong side;-) Makes it depreciate faster. Kinda like us buying grey market electronics in New York intended for Non North American markets. Same damn thing..rolled of the same assembly plants just cheaper prices. Just hope it doesn't break or you're screwed... as far as the certified dealers are concerned.
