Head Unit upgrade question #2
#26
Re: ordered the nav, sirius hookup and Ipod cable so I should be rocking
there is litterally no room for the nav unit, so i made room for it from non usable space. on the driver side in the trunk of my coupe. i basically cut into the carpetting and created a din sized nook so that the unit could sit right in there. i'll get some pictures taken. but the problem i ran into when installing...on installer websites, they tell you that the vss (vehicle speed sensor) cable is the blue/white cable behind the radio. there was no such cable in my 2000 quattro. so i found it behind the gauge cluster, hooked it up and it didnt work. then when i gave up on finding the correct wire for the night, i drove my car around with my new 717dvd kenwood and i reealized that my gauge cluster speedometer isnt working at all neither is the lcd underneath it registering my new miles. i think i burned out my speed sensor. i am going to vag com it tomorrow. by the way, anyone installing aftermarket radio's be sure to cut the k-line wire from the harness otherwise you'll never get your obd2 to give diagnosics.
