Default Headlight auto-leveling (repost)

My xenons just point straight forward. Going into a long dip in the road, the throw gets shorter since the car is pointing down, going up the upside, they throw over the crest. Over bumpy roads, they jiggle as if to be micro-compensating. I don't see any behavior that improves lighting on a hilly road. Is this the desired effect or are the levelers not working?

Thanks
Carl

Default Thanks for the tease, but...

...are you saying that they up/down proportional to vehicle speed? I'll have to try the stop-light test to see this. I thought the intent was to level in proportion to the vehicle's attitude/slope... I like the vehicle speed answer, if that's what you mean, because at 80mph it's easy to be overrunning the throw, while at town speeds it seems there's too much...

Thanks for the reply...

Default Auto-leveling is relative to the ground, period.

Car won't know if you're going up-hill or down, and don't need to know speed or acceleration.

Open the hatch and get a couple of guys to sit down on the transom to check for auto-adjustment.
