Default HELP !!! >>>

(Did a search - didn't help) I used my windshield washers for the first time yesterday and the fluid seems like it has some kind of an oil base to it. It took over 5 minutes to dry on the windshield while driving and then dried with a film all over the windshield and the hood from the alien washers. Took me some major elbow grease to finally clean it all off. What's up with that??? Leaving for Church but I'll check the post in a couple of hours . TIA !

Default original owner or did you buy it pre-owned?

if it's used, maybe the original owner put some sort of additive in with the washer fluid...Rain-X or something. just a thought.

Default Sounds very strange (more)

- what color is the liquid?
- any funny smell(s)?

Rain-X wouldn't do this as I have it in my roadster. Take it to the dealer and show them that this is not right so they can drain and replace with correct water / fluid.

Good luck

DO NOT blame 'Rain-X' this is not filmy or greasy.

Could be the Rain-X for the windshield and not the washer .

Jeff, I think Rain-X for the windshield is filmy but not the one for the washer.

Default They are the same (same bottle)

the windshield (and headlamp) bottle are one in the same. I use Rain-X and it's not greasy and oily. There seems to be some oil of some kind inside his bottle (perhaps filled wrong)

Default Only if you don't know how to apply it. It's filmy when you put it on the glass, but you buff it off

If they put regular Rain-X in the washer tank, perhaps.
If it's this stuff, it's perfect for the washer tank.
