HELP! I had my waterpump disintegrate last night... now I have a CEL, how do I clear..>
Spent today replacing the water pump... how do I clear the CEL without a VAG, for I don't have one!

dissintegrate? wow... mine just broke.. haha
just unplug your ECU.. let it sit for a while.. then replug it... it'll reset the ECU

I will post a pic later today... what a mess, pulled a total of 2 large chucnks and 1 small chunk..
out of the housing area.
I must say the wrote ups on how to remove and reinstall are amazing. It made for a long day, but we made it through it.
Decided to change a few things while there...
here is a short list:
New serpentine belt
New timing belt
New water pump
New tensioner
New little gold roller
Still have to do the thermostat.
Took the leads off the battery last night to sit, hopefully that will clear the CEL, but she runs great.

That's why the dealer doesnt want you to do it your self
They leave the parts in the (internals) lol ;o)
We pulled the same thing out of mine, well RafaTT did. Chunks, bits and pieces. Thank GOD they came out. Makes you wonder though. Funny how there are no RECALLS on this stuff, simply BS!
