Default HELP: A light went on that looks like a triangle with a circle around it....

Does anyone know what this could be? too lazy to STFA and i'm at work. Sorry for the noob question, but can't VAG till I get home tonight. TIA

Default I thought it was the ESP but it doesn't shut off when I hit the button.....>

Is it ok to drive the car for awhile till I can get it fixed?

That means your MAF has died. Not a huge deal at first. You will end up in limp, tho.

Default Try turnig ing of remove key , start and see if it goes out

or vag-ckeck see what codes come up

Default doesn't necessarily mean maf, could be several things...

he'll have to read the codes to find out.

Relatively safe to go.Mine was came out as a faulty sensor.

Default Thanks for the help. I finally tried to STFA and came up with a lot of ....

different answers that people have come across. I guess I'll have to wait till after work to find out. Hopefully I'll be ok to drive back home, some 30 miles.

Default hitting the esp button would normally turn the light ON- 95% of cars on road>>

don't have ESP so don't worry about driving it, you won't hurt anything. If someone has a vagcom they can read the codes to see what problem is. Mine had this light come on recently and it was an intermitent failure of lateral accelleration sensor. This seems to be a common failure. After clearing codes it hasn't occurred since so I'm keeping an eye on it (out of warranty). If you vagcom yours don't clear the codes so the dealer can find them.
