Help. Looking for specfic guidance on chipped ecu swapping with Immobilizer
I want the new X Chip. I have Immobilizer (verified by symbol and confirmed by my new vagcom.) I intend to chip a spare ecu and keep my stock ecu virgin. I'm looking for folks with a similar set-up so I can get specific guidance on the proceedure and hassles. I'd like to be able to do install and swapping myself since my dealer is mod not-friendly and I've had more than my share of service visits. (And yes I searched and read everything out in the forum). Thanks

You'll have to send them your ECU, they'll clone it to the new ECU with the X-chip,
instruction on installatio can be found on various websites > AWE-Tuning.com, goapr.com, stratmosphere.com to name a few. Installation takes 30 min if it's your first time, 5 by the time you've mastered it.
Once installed, drive your car as hard as you can!! Just make sure you follow the instructions on throttle body adaptation.

I won't have a problem driving the car as hard as I can (it's a hint Gary) :)
BTW would that be possible to send the APR-chipped ECU to GIAC to grill it for the X-chip or I would have to get a brand new ECU?

It may not be so easy.....????
Based on what I've pieced together (all pertains to Immobilizer III Audi TTS)....
If your chipping the stock ecu youre right. Send the ecu, its chipped and your reinstall.
However if youre introducing a new ecu (stock or chipped) or youre swapping between two ecus (one stock, one chipped) each time you swap, you have to reset and enter a 7 digit secret key code (SKC) along with the dealer Workshop Code. I'm not sure, but SKC may also be date sensitive (i.e. you also have to enter the date it was generated by Audi). (The SKC is not on your key fob and has to be generated on-line at an Audi dealer -- who will know the only reason why you need it is to chip.)
I'm trying to verify this with someone who is actually doing this with a Xchip, as APR seems to have a different and unique Immobilizer work around.
Does this sound right to anyone?
Any help?????
