Default Help, major problem, TT not running, any advice appreciated.

This morning, shortly after washing my TT, my EPC light came on and the engine died. I was able to restart after about 10 - 15 minutes of on and off trying. Prior to starting, when I put the key in and turned to 'on' EPC light would not light, as if ECU was not being recognized. I checked ECU connectors and there was some water around the seals, but none inside connection.

Once car started, everything ran fine and I stopped and started 2 more times during the day without trouble.

Later this evening, after driving the car for about 10 minutes and it sitting for an hour and a half, it will not start. Again, the EPC light will not come on. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the ECU again. Also, I disconnected the battery, waited about a minute and then reconnected. Neither made a difference.

My TT is a 2000, 180 FWD very early build, APR chipped.

In the morning I will return to the parking lot I left her on and hook up VAG-COM. Hopefully I will have more to add to this.

Again, any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

Rob

Default I had something similar... mine was due to the Neuspeed intake I installed...

The "adaptor" I made collapsed on the air hose, which basically suffocated the car. Not sure if you have anything like that going on, but the EPC light would come on and the car would die.

Bad Chip. Washing the car is coincidental.
