Default Help! Small grind in 1st gear around 2500-2800rpm??...

It doesn't happen during shifting--already had the 2nd gear grind--they replaced my WHOLE TRANSMISSION 2-3 months ago. Normally happens in the morning as I'm creeping along on a cold engine. Right about 2500rpm I hear & "feel" a slight kkrrrrr. Any ideas???I love this car but when it comes to sevice, I wish I had my dodge back.

Default Yuh huh....I had this too but got it fixed and it never returned.

It's a slight metalic vibration in the middle of the rev-range. It comes from the stainless heat shield between the exhaust and the drive shaft.

Did you notice it in every gear? Mine only happens in 1st.

Default I actually don't recall. I think it was only in first, but that's just

...because it was a sound, not something I felt. I only heard it in parking garages and when driving next to building, etc. Usually, under those circumstances, I'm just in first gear anyway.

Default So you did have a "problem" :) question for you inside

When you say "will they (wheels) fit over my Stop Techs?" is your primary concern the inside diameter of the wheel or the offset?

My real question is what exactly is "offset" in this context? I know what it is, but what and from what is it measuring?

Default I don't think I'll have any inside diameter problems with 18" wheels, but the offset is..

...my main concern. The spokes of the wheel need to clear the brake calipers. Some wheels with deep "cups" will obviously not clear the StopTechs. I don't know the technical definition of offset, but I figure it's the measured distance from the hub to the spokes of the wheel.
