Default Help with TT Electronics Problem

I need help from the forum electronics experts.

I have a 180 TTR. I went to start it last night after it had been sitting in my garage for 4 days.
I put the key in the ignition, turned it to start and NOTHING happened ! The dash lights came on, and the big OK, came up on the display.
Several attempts were made to check the clutch and gear shift position and the steering with with still NO sound from the engine, but each time the dash lights and the OK came on.
So, next I pulled the latch to open the hood. Thats when the fun began !!!
The alarm system went off, and..... I could not stop it !!!
I tried the red button on both remotes..... nothing !
After approx. 2 minutes the horn stopped but the lights continued to flash. I then tried to start the car again, nothing happened, but... the horn started blaring again !
Finally I was able to disconnect 1 of the battery leads. to stop everything. After several minutes I reconnected it and the car started normally, though the engine ran rough for a few minutes. I took it out for a drive, stopped and satrted the car several times with no problems.
So.... any ideas on what went wrong ?
Has anyone else experianced a similar situation ?
Please help with with any comments, ideas and infromation !

THank You !!

Default Was the alarm armed?

It sounds as though the ignition cut was engaged by the alarm thus why no car start. It definetly sounds alarm related. Quirky electronics? possibly but it sounds like a trip to the audi dealership. I would see if you could get the symptom to happen again to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Good luck

Yes, the alarm was armed. I pushed the button on the remote to disarm it and to unlock the doors.
This all worked normally.
From that point on the mystery began....

I'm not trying to patronize you here but you do realize that if you hit the unlock button on the fob and don't do anything the car will re arm after a few seconds(I'm not sure how many)in other words did you deactivate the alarm and then get right in the car or did you wait and do something else. I'm just trying to get all the info to help.

I appreciate your questions, I am just looking for some answers.
After unlocking the car with the FOB, I got in and tried to start it within 5 - 10 seconds.
