Default help with wheels

just purchasing 01 tt quattro 225 coupe...i will be installing eihbach springs which will lower approx 1" and would like to put 18" rims on. Question is what wheel width, offsets and tire size will fill wheel wells without causing any interference or driving problems. I do not want to get into sheetmetal work. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

There's a big variety of wheels and tires you can choose, and so many different dimensions that could work properly. The tires that would match the diameter of your current stock ones, should be 225/40/18. As for the rims, look for 7,5" - 8,5" for the best results and so as to have the most appropriate width to fit the 225 tires on(according to the tire manufacturers' specs too). The offset could be from ET20 (that would come almost flush with the fender, but it also depends on the width of the rim), to ET35 which is the stock offset (again depends on the width of the rim you choose, for example a narrow rim as with 7,5" width would require a smaller offset so as not to rub against your suspension).

Here's a table with specs that could help you out.<ul><li><a href="http://www.goodyeartires.com/goodyeartireselector/display_tire.jsp?prodline=Eagle+F1&amp;mrktarea=Pe rformance">http://www.goodyeartires.com/goodyeartireselector/display_tire.jsp?prodline=Eagle+F1&amp;mrktarea=Pe rformance</a</li></ul>

Thanks. I run 18x8 Alessio F1 rims with 225/40/18 Goodyear F1s. But I'm swithcing to a staggered setup soon (18x8,5 front and 18x9,5 rear), to obtain a more agressive look. A very important factor is also that my car is pretty much lowered, somewhere around 2,5" and that's decisive for the way it looks in the pic. If you need any more help, I'll be glad to help
