Here's how to save 5% on gas...
Discover has a gas card that rebates 5% on all gas purchases. It's not the standard Discover card, so you have to ask for it specifically or ask Discover to switch to it. I think the standard Discover card gives you more cash back on other purchases but less on gas. I don't believe there's an annual fee for this thing.
I spent almost $50 on a fill up the other day (ouch!), so that's a $2.50 refund, which helps a little. Love those rebate cards, I have an air miles card....................
So far I've flown from PA to Washington state roundtrip 4 times and we just flew to Miami, all for free. They have started to add $35.00 per ticket for some security fee.

I use Amex Rewards - have $1500 in Home Depot cards waiting to spend!
Have received at least $5000 in goods free using Amex Rewards points.... Yep, I pay with everything I can using my Amex - even my tithe!

I've mainly used the airline cards, but with gas prices $3.30+ in San Diego now...
I'm thinking that the 5% for gas only might be the way to go and then use the airline card for most other purchases.
