Default Hi All......What are the typical reasons for the check engine light to come on?

I just turned 10K miles and have a service appt for next saturday.

Everything looks fine and sounds fine. Could it be just a sensor problem or something. I'd hate to drive around like that for a week....

Default I think the light is supposed to come on after having too much fun in Annapolis

My check engine light came on (in Volvo) on the way home. ;-)

The typical problem people associate with a check engine light is the gas cap not being secured properly after re-fueling.

Of course it could be a real problem too.

Default You still have the stock DV?

Saw on your sig, that you don't have the Forge yet. The check engine light has come on for a # of people whent the DV goes.

I'll double check, but I haven't put gas in it in a few days.

tree in Annapolis! I couldn't even start driving home til I found a car wash!

It was disgusting.... Looked like leopard paint...LOL

Default The check engine light would stay on though,

I think the engine codes would need to be reset for the engine light to shut off.

Default I typically drive my Volvo to Annapolis because it becomes a family affair

I parked it under a tree... big mistake. I ended up with a roof ding from a walnut or something falling on it. :-(

There was a lot of pollen there...and other types of tree dust.
