Default Holy smokin' brakes batman

Hey Larry - had the TT at Evo school this weekend and since they run pairs of cars at a time, you get to run a heck of a lot of nearly back-to-back runs. Thought of you and your TT brake complaints - after one set, both front wheels had smoke coming from them! Surprising to say the least but the car still felt ok (actually the brakes feel fine) - so I drove it in a circle for a few to try and cool hoping to avoid rotor warpage. Brake bleeding in my future!

Thoughts on what to do? Normal autox never provides me the chance to cook them so hot then again it was a tad unsettling.

Fun stuff though

Default Which Evo were you taking? I, II or III?

I know when Julian took hte Evi I she didn't have brake troubles.

There is not very much you can do with the car for a stock setup except pads and fluid, neither of which will prevent the brakes from heating up too much. Ask Ron what pads he is running, but my guess is he still has the stock pads.

Glad you had fun.

Default Yeah, Ron ran Evo I on saturday

This was phase II - much more track time, and not on a condensed track - had to go to third gear and back down real quick. Fun

I'll see what Ron sez - he loves his new 225!

Default I was running stock pads. I have PF's but didn't have the

time to put them on yet. Probably for next weeks event, or maybe after.

I didn't have any brake fading issues, or heat, to speak of.
