Default Horn Question

Could someone tell me if it is difficult or easy to access the horns on the TT. Mine have started "mewing" (like a kitten) instead of blairing. I can see them but I figured I would just take it to Audi if access is difficult.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

They're a bit of a pain to get access to. I'd let the dealer warranty them

Default Take it to Audi. Not easy to get in there. I have a set of Hella horns

that I've never even installed....hmmm, mod for my next TT. You have to practically take apart the whole front of the car to get to them.

Default You can access them, by removing the small cross-hatched vent panels...

These shots show you how to remove these grille panels. Once you get them off ,you can reach in and work on the horns.
The dealer may choose to remove the whole front fascia, I don't know.
It's still tight in there this way, but you may be able to get a wrench on them.

Why would you even bother when it's a warranty issue and will be taken care of for free?

Default Actually its not difficult at all...

Both my horns failed. I removed the plastic grills and checked voltage to the horns to determine it was horn failure, not a problem with "power" to the horns. The manual calls for the entire front fascia to be removed but that is totally unnecessary! I had my dealer change the horns and it took about 5 minutes with me standing next to the tech.
