How come the 5spoke TT wheel is only 23lbs, but when you put a tire on it its 46lbs? Weird!

Default Nope. Depends on the tire to some degree...
Kumhos (225/45 17) are around 22lbs each. I think my new S03s (235/40 18) are closer to 25 or 26 each. I believe Yokohamas are also pretty light.

I heard the Toyos are also super light..

Default you want a stupid lightweight tire..get Hoosier...extremely light..
alot of the weight in tires is the belts some of which can be steel..
