Default How do I connect Alpine HU to stock speakers on car with concert HU.

I have a very nice Alpine IVA-D900 sitting around for over a year while I figured out where I wanted to place the subwoofer and door speakers. Still haven't decided, but would like to just move ahead and get the Alpine HU and brain installed and use existing speakers.

I have the concert HU in my 01 coupe.

I would greatly appreciate the instructions on how to make this unit work with the existing speakers.

Default Get this harness...>

If you have Bose. Ignore the text that says 2002+......Trust me, 3 of us with 2001's have just been through this. Metra 1787 harness will allow you to interface your aftermarket HU power and Pre-outs with the Bose amp system....

Get a faceplate and an antenna adapter while you're there....

http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/AUDI_HARNESS_FOR_2002_VEHICLES_p_1194.html</a

Default steve, could this harness solve the problem of

having an aftermarket deck work properly with stock bose speakers. because awhile back i tried to have a pioneer 8600 installed and halfway though the install they said it would not work because the bose speakers have a diffrent ohm rating than aftermarket head units. ever heard of this problem? thanks

Default Yes....>>

This harness uses Line-outs from the new head unit into the Bose wiring and therefore retains the Bose amplifier and speakers. No other changes necessary, though down the road you might want to update those components which would require brooming the Bose amp and speakers. Solder a few wires Between the adapter and your HU harness, plug the RCA's in and it's basically a plug and play solution for a HU upgrade. Quite a few guys have done it this way...I listened to KrusTTy's and TTinCT's this weekend using this set-up...
