Default How does the dual ecu thing work out?

I have a chipped and a stock ecu
Is there recoding involved everytime you swap?
Is there a record of the 2 ecus being used.
How has it worked out for you?

Default Removing the ECU sets a code in it, "Terminal Voltage Too Low" ....

If you swap a chipped ECU for stock ECU for example, and then take it to the dealer, this is a way they can tell at the least, the ECU was swapped, or the battery cable was removed.
They then may challenge you on this and ask you, "Are you chipped?"
If you replace the chipped ECU for the stock one, and do not clear this code before going to the dealer, they will pull the DTC that sez "Terminal Voltage Too Low"
Other than that, there is no other way to tell if you ran a chipped or modified ECU.

Not sure I know what you mean? ECU is car-specific

Default Details

ECU1 that came with car is chipped.
ECU2 I bought new is in the car now and running
Both ecu's are the same type.
If I put ECU1 back in do I have to do anything with the VAG or does it just work.
Is it plug and play right with no other concerns? Just wanted to confirm.

Default Oh I see, it will just work, but you should use a VAG tool to...

1. Clear the 'terminal voltage' DTC.
2. Do a Throttle Body Adaptation.
