how long can I go between haldex fluid change?
I have a low mileage 02 QC, so here's what happened with the service, because at around 10k miles, I knew I wasn't going to reach 40k miles before the warranty expired.
Actual miles

5k dealer mistakenly serviced it with 10k.
10k dealer did 20k service.
20k dealer did 30k service.
30k dealer denied me 40k under warranty.
So now I'm on my own, at a little past 30k and I'd like to get my service sync'd with the normal schedule as best I can.
Since the haldex was last changed at 10k, is it safe to wait until I actually hit 40k miles? That would be almost 30k between changes.

Do it now, if your dealer is like most they never did it anyway!
It is a pain for most techs and they skip it. You will know when the old filter is removed if it is nylon or plastic its been changed!
If it is metal it is the origial. My bet is metal. Mine was "done" by two different Stealers at 20k and 40k services and it was STILL metal....i.e. never changed until I did it at 48k when I changed all the tranny, diff fluids and updated the Haldex to blue controler.
