Default How much more gain in real HP/Torque from turbo back vs. cat back

Cant decide whether or not to do the whole exhaust or save some change and just do the cat-back. I like the APR sound but might consider something else if there was a significant enough gain. Also, for those of you with custom exhausts....where do you look to find someone qualified to do a custom exhaust on a TT?

Default Not that many of us have done turbo back - I'm thinking mostly due to cost>>>

My 'hunch' is that with a very good cat or race cat, (or dare I say - NO cat), there is HP to be made - how much? Risky to 'guess', but if you believe on a K04, Cat back is 8 - 12 HP, then I would not be suprised if Turbo back was about the same... Certaintly not a value oriented mod, but if you want to do everything possible before a Big Turbo, then it should be considered.

Default Eisenmann vs. APR?......they both sound great...but...

the Eisenmann has a crimp in the pipe that also exists in the stock exhaust. my mechanic pointed out to me that getting rid of the stock crimp in the pipe will allow better "breathing". Sounds kinda fishy to me cause I would think the intake is more important in that aspect. anywhooo... i will prolly end up with just the cat-back. I aint feeling like replacing the turbo just yet.

Default I havent dyno'ed since my swap, but i can tell ya that....

my clutch use to bairly slip just before we did the turbo back. Now i have to replace the clutch casue anything after the turbo spools up is crap. The turbo back gave my clutch maybe alittle more power but it was enuff to make it so i hate getting on the freeway now

Default I had a custom 2.5" down pipe & 100 cell cat installed by Brullen and

was a bit disappointed. Though it seemed to spool up a little faster, I seemed to have lost some low end torque. Maybe you pick some horses up on the top end. I actually switched back to stock(had some fitament issues) and am happier.
