Default I had a Zaino emergency yesterday...................

Just when I finally had enough time and a nice enough day to prep the TT for Asheville (claybar & Z - 3 coats), I ran into a minor snag.

ONLY ENOUGH Z2 FOR ONE COAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I should have checked the bottle before ordering the ZFX and Z6. Oh well. So, I did the claybar w/ detailer spray (thanks Dave) then applied one coat of ZFX/Z2 with 3M Hand Glaze on top of that. Looks pretty good but not as good as multiple Z coats.

The ExecuTTioner is finally ready to roll to Asheville!!!!!!!!!!!

Default Uh....Joel....>>

I don't know a damn thing about about Z stuff, but 3M imperial hand glaze is meant to be used BEFORE you wax (or whatever).....You are <gasp> UNPROTECTED!

Default Yeah, well I flipped a coin and Zaino won so it got closest to the car!

Actually, I debated for some time on which to apply over the other. The results are fine.

Default Why would you even mix-match products like that?

You just removed the Zaino! lol

Joel, all you needed to do was a single coat of Z-2, then Z-6. Done, go inside and watch TV.

Default I didn't have a choice - not enough Z2. .....

I did use Z6 afterwards. Did the 3M really take off the Z2???

F*CK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default It's a good prep but not a finish coat product........>>>

It's a surface cleaner like Finessit-2. Protective wax goes on after. Don't let the shine fool you! Hope you waxed or Z'd or something!

Default lol . . .

I don't really know. But if you didn't have enough Z-2 you should have left it as is, finished the entire car with Z-6 and redone it in Asheville. There will be plenty there. I plan on redoing mine there after hopefully finally getting it done tomorrow. Weather permitting.

What the 3M did was actually cover whatever effects the Z-2 would have provided in conjunction with the Z-6. The Zaino products actually work in conjunction with one another in a chemical reaction.

Any Z5, you could use that instead of z2
