I need an experienced person or tuner in the Los Angeles area that is close by
I live in the hollywood hills area right now and I am just looking for good places and/or people for modding my car. Don't say hartmann because all I hear is terrible stuff about them
--------------------------------------------
Nothing in specific at the immediate moment but I am collecting info... (if i know i got an installer its easier to buy something for the car)
My planned mods that are for sure: Abt Front Grill, Forge DV-R (color undecided), Milltek Hi-flo Cat and Milltek Hi-flo Exhaust nonres
Things I would like to do (in my dreams) that probably won't happen: Chip, FMIC, BMC CDA intake, maybe suspension, wheels/tires, clear corners, different antenna, Stage 2 upgrade for low-beams along with xenon conversions for the fogs and highbeams, and then a body kit or something = ]
I have thought about doing stuff myself but I have 0 tools and am too afraid I'd blow up my engine just installing stainless oil caps = P

I am experianced :-), but not in LA, you should be able to do the mods yourself
I was the same way, I had no tools, etc. Buying tools is my 2nd love. I have a small apartment, so tool were just not practical. You should be able to do the BMC intake, chip, exhaust, and DV without any help what so ever. The suspension can be done, but you should have someone else there. People here are friendly, but not as friendly as the guys and gals on the OF :-).

YOu could always come over here and we could tackle them together...
check my Fotki album...(www.public.fotki.com/ventted). I have all the tools, and have quite a list of people that can do some of the trickier stuff. Get ahold of me and we'll go from there.
You need to go on a drive with us sometime!

I have heard of many people having trouble with them, especially about getting the job done on time
and for the original negotiated price. Ask around for people that had a stg. 3 put in there. People have said that they don't take your concerns seriously there and you only get proper treatment and attention if you are tuning your porsche turbo or something
Shady stuff with the APR Stage 3 installs too. Really expensive for labor up front and then it takes them a million years to finish (lol, or start) and then they jack up the price and claim "unforseen complications" arose or something along those lines. I wouldn't even trust them with my car for a second.
