I need help hard-wiring a radar detector
I'm trying to hard-wire my Valentine radar detector into the fuse board. Exactly how is this done?
I see a couple of empty fuse recepticles- is that where it gets wired? Do I modify a fuse to accept the two leads from the V1? If so, do I use a 5 amp fuse?
The V1 uses a telephone wire, so I imagine I have to figure out which wires are the two leads I need.
Thank you for any help.

Doubt you bought it new as there is a connector you will need...
I just installed a V1 on Friday. The connector has two Rj-11 inputs, a Red power line and a black line as a ground.
With this piece, the hard-wiring is easy. Would suggest you call V1 on Monday and get this piee if you don't have it.. it will make your life a lot easier.
Also in the box (when purchased new!) is a plastic clip that will allow you to tap into any of the powered wired at the rear of your fuse box.
This piece is called (i think) a viper clip and makes the whole deal a breeze.
I used the line out of fuse 24.. try it when you have all the right pieces.. good luck.
