Default I talked with a performance tuning place here today ...

I was turned onto them by Redline's distributor in San Clemente. It's their biggest user in Orange County. To the point. He advised against Water Wetter. Said I should use Slick 50 in the engine (sp?) instead. As for the radiator, he said I should change the coolant at 15,000 miles. Less if I wanted to be fanatical about it. He also added that Ferrari guys change their coolant at 5000.

Please understand I take all of what he said with a grain of salt.

Jason, Bullit or Larry. Anyone? Comments?

Default DUde its never been proven that PTFE in slick 50 does anygood... use the Redline stuff as to

the rad change I do it every 20000kms... and change oil every 4000kms and Transmission every 20000kms (did my first tranny change at 10000kms... Slick 50 is a petroleum based product that uses micronized PTFE as a friction reducing agent...while PTFE does reduce friction it is debatable for how long and how long it is stable in engine environment.... dont waste your money...oh yeah PTFE is Teflon*

Default He Sounds like an idiot......

Water wetter is a proven product that works, but works best in a pure water envoirnment. Slick 50 has settled a major national suit regarding false advertising etc. Figure that anything that's advertised as much as Slick 50, Splitfire plugs, Bose radios, Bowflex trainers must have a profit margin that's astronomical resulting in very little real product value. Slick 50 is definitely snake oil and PFTE additives have clogged filters and caused major engine damage on some engines. Stay FAR away!!

Default NEVER USE SLICK 50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would ANYONE ever want to put TEFLON into anything? duPont did NOT design Teflon to be placed inside an engine and get suspended within a fluid. It was designed to be chemically bonded to a metal surface under tremdous heat and pressure, an engin will NEVER reach these types of heat.

All Slick 50 will do inside your engine or radiator is CLOG it! You will guaranteed BLOW UP your engine eventually. This stuff is a cancer for a motor vehicle!

The guy is talking out of his ***, do not believe anything the man tells you on any subject.

Default Hey Larry agree 100% but hey teflon is an amazing thermoplastic and has

many uses, I use it daily in my chemical factories for modifying paint and polymer designs... also makes for some real nice armour piercing ammo ( all TT owners in L.A take note) lol... yeah it really likes to clump up.... its to bad that with their big advertising campaign that most people dont have a clue... but also difficult to prove that it does damage to motor also.... due to obscene amount of variables.... at best it offers some improvement in COF at worst it clogs oil filters and breaksdown into sludge....
