Default i wanted a watchful eye on my TT at all times while parked so i just got one of these...

some neighborhood punks dumped canola oil, corn meal and chili sauce on my car last week in the middle of the night. luckily the canola oil went on first and did a nice job of protecting the paint. i got to looking and found something very useful at radioshack. if you point it at your car it will monitor anyone about a foot away from it all the way around. i've been sleeping much better now knowing that if someone is near my car I can look out the window and check it out. i didn't get the one with voice, but that would be a cool way to deter someone.

Wireless Infrared driveway monitor

Default Yea, I've looked at those also, I have a half mile lane coming into my place..................

always wanted to know when someone is coming in the lane. I've had kids parking and partying half way in and never knew it, until I found all the beer cans.

Default Whatever happened to good "old fashioned" motion-sensing floodlights?

Wouldn't that be enough of a deterrent?

Default nothing but buildings that i'm not allowed to put lights on.

i had to mount the sensor to a tree. ahhh, the many disadvantages to renting. lights would be grand though.

Default X10.com, Motion sensing Lights with wireless camera built in.

I love mine, the picture isn't the greatest but the deterrence is.

Default I've got a series of X-10 transmitting motion sensing lights coming up our 400 ft drive

When someone approaches the first light, it transmits a signal which turns on the other (7) lights in the drive and also turns on 3 lights in the house and rings a bell in the house. Someone driving, or walking, up the drive will see the lights come on in the house and, hopefully, if they are up to no good, will turn around. We've seen the turn around often, altho they may well have just been lost, but, since we're some isolated, I am inclined to think that this system has probably saved us from a break-in or two.

http://www.smarthome.com/4082.html</a
