Default I went to the races today.

I just spent a great day at Thunderhill Park Raceway at a TrakQuest day.

3 S4s, 2 A4s and a TT. Plus a gaggle of Boxsters. (What is the collective noun for Boxsters? Whine? Rattle?) 911s, a 914, a solitary Ferrari and, oh yes Jason, 2 Mustangs.

I was a passenger in Steve Sherwood's (of this board) S4 for 10 fast (very fast) laps!

The track is owned and operated by SCCA, is 3 miles long with lots of variety in the curves and elevation changes. A most interesting day.

Default Semi-race prepped Boxsta (rats! rats!)

Steve ate both the Mustangs, the Boxster had a clear track.

Steve should have the final "officia;" results when he gets home.

BTW Sean, who runs the NorCal Audi Club was running his A4, too.

Default Didn't figure the American iron had too much of a chance...

But that's a shame about the Boxster. Let me at 'em in a straight line:-) Is there a website with results and stuff like that?
Jason Dale

Default Actually one of the Mustangs was competitive, but......

as you know very well it's the driver that counts more than the car.

Steve is very fast and very tidy (until our back end started going away).

Default Jason...fastest laps were by a BMW Touring Car put out by B&M Racing

The BMW Touring car was FULL race prepared....Driver was Nigel somebody....he hauled!!!!

DoctaBoxster from the 986board.com was there....definitely the fastest Boxster (he was in the race prepared Boxster S Christopher is talking about)....Todd Serota was the fastest Porsche in his yellow 296 bhp cabriolet...not because of his outrageous power...but because he can drive. There were about four C4Ss.....several very nice Porsches...There was one Ferrari there...an F1 version of something or other...about 97 model year...I bunch of GT2 or GT2 lookalikes...a bunch of older 911s...an RSA....about 8 Boxsters....and us Audi owners.

I did have fun with two prepared Mustangs...both driven by experience drivers...one with the Shelby club (with his mustang 5.0 that day)..and the other was a NASA racer I believe. We would be dueling back and forth...they finally let me pass a few times...

A total of 60 student/drivers...and 20 instructors...

On my fourth 30 minute run group I ran out of gas ON TRACK...that was fun...and that was after putting 4.0 gallons of 100 octane race gas in my car at lunch time. As I figured it I was getting about 7.5 miles/gallon...not very impressive.

Default Nigel? Nigel?...not Nigel Mansell? :-)

Thanks once again Steve for a great day.

Was it rubber debris sticking on the tire?

Default Thanks Steve.....

A couple items of interest here. This B&M Racing team....surely it's not the same B&M that does shifters etc. that one normally finds in the Summit catalogs, is it? Also, do you guys have things planned around the time of the Historics in August. I should be out there with the Lambo owners after Running of the Bulls. If so, e-mail me the plans. Thanks.
Jason Dale

Default It coulda been B&R Racing...it was written on their wing...

It also said "Our BMWs are the fastest" on the car...it was painted the traditional Red, Blue, and Purple BMW racing colors...on a white M3..or M3-looking car. It was a REAL race car..not some guys hobby...

Jason, I will check about the historics...and get back to you.
