I'm an idiot :P
I should (definately should) know better, but I pulled forward to get out of a parking space, and went right over the concrete block at the end of the space. Now I have an oil leak. #%&@#! Looks like it's the flatbed to the shop. I am hoping someone else here has done something equally stupid, and can make me feel a little better by sharing.
Anyone know if the Audi roadside assistance will tow me to my regular mechanic, or only to the dealer? Also, any idea what impact a claim would have on my insurance (in terms of a formula for rate increase)? I have State Farm.
BTW, I have a 2002 225QC
Thanks!

dude that sucks, i'm really sorry to hear man.....>
1) i feel for you
2) Audi roadside can tow you wherever u want
3) your rate will go up but i'm not sure by how much, don't sweat it... its much better than paying out of pocket.
4) my friend and i were gaming online till really late one nite and we left at like 4 or 5 in the morning and he fell asleep on the way home for a SPLIT second in his R32. he went up a curb with his front left tire, bent his control arm, damaged the strut, and cracked his rear bumper. i'll ask him for more info about the rate increase after going through insurance.

I'm sure you are not the first to do that, isn't State Farm advertising something......
about not increasing for accidents? If the repairs are close to your deductable, don't tell them and pay out of pocket.

From many years of experience - Don't Ever Use Insurance except in Serious Financial Exceptions....
Some insurers will even cross check a caller ID number to your account and make a note in your file that you have an issue. I had 3 things happen in one year and had insurance cancelled. All but one I could just have easily paid for even though I would not really wnat to. a) Hit a truck tire retread on I75 and it rips front air dam from BMW 635, $1700. b)Uninsured motorist rearends the same 635, $2000. c) tornado and lightning damage house and cars, $10,000. In retrospect, only the last one should have been a claim on my part. Found that insurers can and will drop you even after years of no issues.
Learning, if you can pay, just suck it up and do it.
Just raise your deductible to as high as they will let you and then never call them again until the catastrophe.
