I'm seriously thinking about the TTR luggage rack from Audi...
...but I'm concerned with the daunting task of keeping the rear deck in an ultra mirror-finished state of Brilliant Black. The luggage rack could make that task more difficult to achieve. That said, I do love the look of the official Audi rack.
Any and all comments, opinions or rants are welcome.
By the way, the Mintex Red Box are winners in the residual dust department. It takes at least four days before I see the accumulation of dust that the stock brakes used to give me on one 15 mile drive.

I'd be weary of it marring the finish @ its mounting points after a while . . .

some luggage rack thoughts
not sure what your plans for it are. many moons ago when I got my Miata, I got the rear trunk rack because I thought I might need it occasionally. (the trunk is really small...) fact is, I never used it. I always found a way to fit everything we needed into the trunk or the passenger compartment. the trunk lid location isn't terribly secure, and it's exposed to the elements, so you need to consider those issues. but the main thing is it looks very un-cool to be strapping stuff to the outside of the car. you want to look smooth, uncluttered, etc., and junk on the trunk rack didn't match that goal for me.
I realize the Audi rack is removable, but that presents its own dilemmas - when do you really need it, so you put it on - because you'll probably keep deciding you don't want to use it if you don't have to. in my case, it's an easy decision - I didn't need the Miata rack, and the TTRQ trunk is bigger than the Miata, ergo ... don't need Audi rack either :-)
still, I realize that some people occasionally NEED to carry some extra stuff. if so, or if you want to attach ski/bike/whatever, don't let me stop you... it's a nice rack if you have to have a rack at all. as for keeping trunk lid clean to avoid scratches - how often do you think you'll really be using the rack? if it's only once in a while, it shouldn't be a bid deal. if it's constantly, as some have said, maybe apply Stoneguard type finish to lid.
good luck.

U.P.S. or Fed X
I came to this conclusion last summer when I went to Rhode Island. Fortunatly I arranged for my clothing to be delivered to the Bed and Breakfast
It keeps the Back of my TTR clean.
Good Luck

mixed feelings
if you gotta have a trunk rack, I'd say that's the one to have. and I agree, it does remind me of the MG rack.
but, I was never that crazy about the MG rack in the first place. the MG was a very minimalist car, and the rack seemed overly large, and you were stuck with it all the time. while it certainly added travelling utility, I thought it detracted from the looks of the car to be hauling luggage strapped to the trunk. if you've got a suitcase or a cooler tied on, you can't drive quite the same way as without. who needs suitacases anywasy? :-) on the other hand, it's the *only* way you're going to carry the big stuff.
anyway, if the rack goes against the purist grain, so what. the whole idea is to have fun, and if occasionally you have to suffer looking a few percent less sports-car-like, that's a small price to pay. if it's *your car* and you want to carry stuff on the trunk because it's *your stuff*, let the purists buy their own cars and treat them however *they* want :-)

Wendy used it to go to TT-East because you have to have your TT there and
she had a lot of stuff to bring...don't know how often she uses it, but for a once-in-a-while getaway, the OEM one looks great to me :-D
