Default Installed Bailey DV - notice whoosh on heavy acceleration lift-off

Is this normal or is something wrong?

I noticed this cruising say in 3rd or 4th gear,
flooring it, then lifting off the accelerator. I
then immediately here a whoosh I never
noticed before.

I installed the valve in the "normal" position -
with the piston facing the air box outlet.

Trying to get ready for TT West you know.
Bilsteins installed (although now car veers
slightly right) and Bailey I've had since before
I got the car in last night (and now I have
a whoosh). Not sure about this Mod thing... :>

Thanks

Sounds normal to me. You'll probably notice a whoosh between shifts too.

Default All right- I'll check the hoses, thanks.

Although I was pretty careful last night to get
them on tight.

Maybe one of you guys can take a look at TTW, too?
Although at this point, I'm guessing it's normal.

Thanks!

Default Sure... would be happy to look. The woosh is the DV doing its job >>>

in other words, the sound of boost being diverted when you lift off. I drove a chipped 180 once, and the woosh was so loud, it was more like PFFFSHHHT! You're probably fine... double check just for peace of mind.

Default That's what I was thinking ...

I'll check, as you said, for peace of mind,
after the game!:>

Thanks.

Default Checked today- interesting...

Hoses are tight. No problems there.

Connected the VAG-COM and saw a DV error! I didn't
remember to hook it up before I replaced the
DV, so I don't know if this was with the old or new
valve. Took it out for a spin today, though, and no
new errors.

Looks like I replaced it at the approx. right time!
