Default Interior light (centre one in coupe) not working

Hi there. JP Posted a thread 12/12/2007 re his interior light issue. I have exactly the same issue on a 2000 TTQ. I tried JP's fix but it didnt work. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Its only my central light that has the issue. My map lights are ok as are the glovebax and trunk. One idea i had was to find out what fuse 14 controls on the US model. In Australia it says "Central Locking" Just wondering if its different over there. My fuse diagram oes not mention any of the fuses to poer the interior light. Could it be that the interior light module has an issue? I have tested the globe on my Golf and it works fine. Here is JP's post;

Just in case someone someday is searching about this problem. (I had to search back to 2003 to find this info) Last weekend my interior light quit coming on. Didn't come on with the door opening or with the center overhead switch. I've had times when it wouldn't go off in the past but that was the classic "light lock bug" Turn off the ignition lock and unlock the doors and all is back to normal. This time was different. No combination of locking and unlocking or opening and closing doors seemed to resolve the problem and make the dome light operate. I removed the center bulb and ohmed it out. It was good. I put it back and went to my computer to search this forum for info. When I found info in search it led me to remove fuse 14 and then replace it. This did not immediately resolve my problem. I then removed the center bulb from its holder. When I put the bulb back in its holder it came on briefly for no reason. After this everything was back to normal and working correctly. Seems like the light control just needed "rebooting" Odd huh?

Default FYI Mine still has same problem------>

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Can often be made to work with a will placed tap. Must have a bad solder on the circuit board. I am looking for a used module from a blue interior car. No luck as of yet.

Y'all have a G'day :-)
