Intermittent A/C, Both Radiator fans not spinning
Hello, (2004 Mk1 225 TT)
I noticed last week on a drive home the AC was no longer blowing cold air. After going into the store and returning, the AC worked on the drive home. A check engline light flashed, but went away.... Over the last week, i've driven 600 miles, no overheating, no issues, no AC trouble... Then today, the AC is not working again, just blowing hot humid air. I checked the engine bay, and the radiator fans are NOT spinning. Neither one.
Could it be a simple fuse? i doubt both fans are bad as i've recently replaced the main fan, and the ac was working over the weekend.
Any pointers where to start? clean the cables? check the fuses? where are they...
Thanks for any help
thats my bay

In a 1.8 there is a fuse in the box on top of the battery that provides power to the fans. Your battery is of course in the trunk however. Looks like your fuse box is still up front above the trans. That is it with the red cables running to and from it. I would look there first. There is a fan control module that can fail also. Driver side on radiator bulkhead. ( below battery on a 1.8.
AC will not function without fans.
