It's been a while since I've driven stick on a full time basis but...
It seems that to shift gears in the TT i dont need to put the clutch to the floor...as a matter of fact it is like 2-3 inches if i am guessing right. Does this sound correct? Why doesnt the pedal just not come up as high? I am in the process of teaching my wife to drive stick and now I feel like i may not know something. I feel as if I could put a block under the clutch so it would touch down on the block almost...help!
Anybody help here? please explain am i just nuts?

when going into first gear or reverse, my foot is always all the way down....
but i do see what you are saying when i go from 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and so on. it does seem like it only takes a little pressure to engage. so i dont think you're nuts. but you are VERY VERY trustworthy to teach someone manual on your nice new tt =) (even if it is your wife)

Maybe you just need to get used to it again...
When I switch from my Honda to the TT the clutch feels odd for awhile but then I adjust. Also I would think that the two or three inches of play is kind of like a margin for error. It would probably be wise to use it at least a little. No harm would be done by pushing the clutch down too far.
