Default I've been doing searches on 60k service...

I'm under the extended warranty... what should I push for? Someone posted how the service for that was estimated at $800. I'm hoping that the extended warranty will cover some things. Seems like everyone pushes for timing belt checkup or a total replacement...

Default Extended warranties covering service??

I doubt it. This is usually on your dime. You can either pay for a timing belt, or wait til it breaks and HOPE your warranty will cover it!

Default If you have an extended warranty that will cover service...

...I sure wish I'd purchased that kind as well. In general, they don't.

I just had the 60K service done on my allroad, and it ran to $300 in parts and 6 hours of labor. I took advantage of Audi's free service being over to establish a relationship with a local independent shop (which has an Audi master technician), so, even though it probably cost as much as it would have at the dealer, I feel like the money went to a better cause.

Further, they included some extras (replacing the rear diff fluid, for example) beyond the normal Audi list -- things they have learned, over the years, that are good things to do at the 60K service.

They also recommended that, before 75K, I take the car in and have the Tip transmission fluid changed (and the filter and magnet cleaned). The Audi dealers tell everyont it's "lifetime" fluid.

Finally, I, too, was concerned about the timing belt, but they said it's supposed to be good to 105K and they've not seen anything to give them a different idea.

All this is for an allroad, of course, and TTs may be different. But it is a 60K experience that may have some relevance. HPH
