Just got a vag tool. I can connect to all ECUs except radio....any suggestions?

Just got a vag tool. I can connect to all ECUs except radio....any suggestions?

When I choose to connect to the radio, it starts loading the ECU part number, coding, and all that stuff, but it never actually gets to displaying the info. It just keeps trying. I can connect to all other ECUs in my car without a problem. What gives?

Registered? Also, this is a problem with some radio versions. Mine always goes 'SAFE'

Yes, its registered. It's weird that it knows the ECU is there, but won't fully connect. hmmm.

May be a question for the Vag Forum, there are usually Ross-Tech guys there

Try this...

I've had this happen when I first scanned my wife's Passat with my ProDiag (Vag-com-like software that runs on a PDA). It saw the controller but didn't connect to the radio... when the radio was off, that is. It did connect when the radio was ON.

So make sure your radio is on and give it another try...
