it still runs straight and true, but there is a noticeable vibration at 60+ mph....do you think it might need a new wheel alignment or is it possible that the wheels were balanced properly?

Default

that would be balance. Do you need hubcentric rings?

Default Take your tires and wheels in to a tire shop and balance them

Vibrations that come and go with speed are generally related to wheel balance. How thick are the spacers you installed?

Default it could be the balance OR the spacers

try retightening the spacers, if it continues, take them off and see if it continues, if it does then it's your tires.

Default i've used 10mm and 15mm spacers on the front, and at both times, there was vibration...

you don't think it could be the wheel alignment, not that I want to spend good money on an unnecessary wheel alignment...
