Default Re: just ordered Forge DV...

i got mine in (exact same one) yesterday and attempted to install it with the 20 minutes of daylight i had left. the instructions show a 225hp engine and i have a 180. i ran out of daylight unfortunately, but one thing i did notice was that the dv on the 180 is slightly harder to get to than on the 225 (at least how the picture showed it). i have to somehow work underneath of my strut bar and it looks like it is going to be a real pain to get to all the hoses. i might have to take off the strut bar (no big deal) or be lame and just take it to get professionaly done. if you have a 180hp i hope this helped at all. if you have a 225 then it is probably a waste to read this =)

Default pete, Its very very easy to install.

When I installed mine, it took me max 30 min. And I installed in my 180 the 006P, wich is bigger.

Default I just installed mine last night....

A couple of tips (from my experience). Getting the clamps off is by far the hardest part - lots of expletives there! Here is the way I would suggest doing it. Undo the top (small hose) first and then loosen the screw holding the bottom hose. Pull the valve out of the lower hose. You should now just have the hose attached at the side with the biggest pain in the *** clamp on it. You can unbutton the metallic fabric and unclip the hose from the engine mount and pull the DV over to the otherside of the engine to get better access to it. The easiest way I found to remove this clamp was to take the pliers on a Leatherman (needlenose type) and basically twist and turn the small shark fin at the bottom of the clamp that locks it in place until it snapped off - then, you should be able to use a screw driver to pry it off. If you have a dremel, I've heard a lot of people used the cutter tool on those). From here, the reinstallation of the forge should be a piece of cake! I did the side hose first and then put everything back in place and pushed it into the bottom hose, finishing with the top. All in all, its pretty simple - one thing not to forget is the MAF sensor - disconnecting it will allow you better access - just be sure to hook it back up before you put your engine cover back on otherwise your car will drive in limp mode.

Good Luck!

Default No - but as a Forge 006 owner my post install tip is ........

check it every 10k or so and relube. I let mine go for 14k and when I took it out to service it - hardly any grease and i'm now pretty sure it was the cause of my surging problems.
