Launch Control Issues...
I found it quite hard to pull off a decent start with the DSG system. I run a UK car that has launch control activated.
Whilst at the lights I would be sitting with the gear box in sport, traction cotrol turned off, my foot applied hard on the brakes and my foot flat to the floor on the accelerator.
The car then sits up and wants to pull but the brakes are stopping it, revs are limited to about 1500RPM. After about 5 seconds though the car sits back down and clearly feels like it has been knocked out of gear, the revs are still at 1500RPM but feels as if it is in neutral. When I then disengage the brakes the car 'bogs' for a second and the revs drop to zero before then pulling away and back up through the revs.
I was wondering, is this a safety feature of launch control to save the transmission? Also I was under the impression that launch control was supposed to launch the car at around 3200RPM is this correct?
" At the test track with the stability control switched off, the computer delivered a good strong launch with modest wheelspin that resulted in a 5.9-second sprint to 60 mph and a 14.3-second quarter-mile at 97 mph. "
[ Motor Trend (US) had almost exactly the same no's : 1/4 mile, sec @ mph 14.37 @ 97.23

You are down about a full second; I suspect your LC be wonky.<ul><li><a href="http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=16&article_id=7869& page_number=1">http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=16&article_id=7869& page_number=1</a</li></ul>
Im gonna take the car down to be looked at ASAP...
Cheers for the advice guys!
If you dig around in some of Marc3.2TT's post (link below), you'll see the TCM for his Euro-spec DSG is:
> Address 02: Auto Trans
> Controller: 02E 300 046 E
> Component: GSG DSG 0629
> Coding: 0000020
> Shop #: WSC 04940
> No fault code found.
My scan for US-spec (no LC) looks like this:
> GSG DSG 0604
> DTCs: 0
> P/N: 02E 300 046 G
> Coding: 0000020, WSC: 01236
If you have the "G" part number, you got a US-spec TCM, and LC is disabled. If you got "E" or "F" (IIRC), then LC should work, but your TCM may need some lookin at.
Just wanna get you into the 14's!

My car does not have true manual, the car will still automatically shift at redline.
Also when in sport or drive and i overide with the paddles the car will automatically time out and go back into automatic after a short time.
And LC by the sounds of things is disabled.
Im now really annoyed as I would have chosen a manual transmission over a DSG if it had the US TCM spec.
Any ideas on where I would stand legally in a claim against my dealership?
Recent US 3.2's had this owner's maunal insert. Did you get one?
