Default Launch control for US cars? Can it be activated??

Sorry again if this has been discussed ad nauseum. I just read about how the launch control has been disabled for cars in the states. What's up with that?? Can it be reactivated in any way?

I hope you guys come back and say yes there is.

Default Doesn't look that way...>

From earlier research that 3.2 owners have done. Some components were changed to prevent it...Sorry..

Default bummer! I wonder what it would take?

I'd even go as far as travel to Europe to get the needed parts. I'm going next year anyway.

Well if anyone knows how to get it activated, that would be awesome.

I must be hooked. I don't even own the car yet, but I'm already making my modding plans. Muhahaahaa!!

Default Non-North American Engine ECU, comaptible Non-North American...

... trans controller and a few harness changes. When done this way, it is an easily identified warranty vaporizer.

There is another method but it necessitates co-operation and assistance from Audi in Germany and is generally unavailable on this side of the pond. It is also eraseable at the dealer level.

Or so I have been told.

Default Some early LC-enabled 3.2's did squeak through, though, correct?

I tried again the other day, but no success.

Default It's not in the car manual anymore

I got my 05 last Friday and I must have scanned the manual a dozen times looking for launch control info. It's not even in the manuals anymore!
