Default Leaking convertible?

Drove an '02 convert the other day and was intersted in buying UNTIL the sales guy and I were looking to see if the first aid kit was in place. When we folded the passenger seat forward, that was fuzzy mold on the carpet coming from under the seat and growing all the way up the back carpet...yeah, i know, gross..I know all converts leak at some point, but that was ridiculous...

Need some feedback if this happens a lot to convertibles......Thanks..

Default Mine leaked when I first got it....

Replaced the gasket on top of the windshield and properly aligned the passenger side quarter window and door. Haven't had a drop since...

Default Could have been in rain with window open.

The watertight seal is actually pretty good and would encourage mold if this were the case. Best way to find out is to get a hose...

Default I'm sure the dealer used a pressure washer on the car when it was in the lot. I see this a lot...

If they do, water will come in at the tyop of the A pillar, top of the window glas. There is NO way around this with a pressure washer.they just were not dilliegent enough to figure this out.

The manual state this when using a car wash even.

DO not let this deter you.

mines hasn't leaked on it's own in 6 years.

Default Mine hasn't leaked in six years and despite living in SoCal, I always drive it in the rain.

I can't wait for rain. I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve when I know rain is headed our way. I've driven it in some very heavy Pacific storms and through a few monsoons in Scottsdale.

Default Could be clogged rear top drains.... easy fix... I live in the woods of Maine..

and the trees leave all sorts of suff on any car in the driveway. Over a period of time my first year of ownership, I noticed a build up of moisture inside the cabin and trunk areas. Thought it was a leaky roof (have owned many British sports cars over the years including a current Jag... all leaked). Anyway the dealer finally figured out the problem the drains in the back roof area were clogged with tree debris. Clean out a couple of times each year and all is well.
