Little panel by rear view mirror?

I found this little hinging panel just in front of the rear view mirror of my brand new 2001 TTC.

The manual doesn't mention it, nor does it seem to have any obvious function.

Does anyone know what it is for?

Sun visor....cute eh? If you have the "window dressing" size mirror it doesn't come into play much

Just a sun visor !! - keeps sun out of you eyes where other sunvisors miss.
