the value of the Euro! He started it, and I'm sure he's now back down to earth. 260 horsepower. Just like a cheap high wattage receiver that sounds like **** when you turn it up. Great marketing, though. Just make sure to raise your hand in class and ask what torque means.

Actually, it's 240hp from a 3.5l, the same 3.5l that's in the Maxima at 250hp, the Infiniti at 255hp
the Pathfinder at 240hp and the new Z at 280hp. One thing Nissan does do well is V6's, this engine is quite nice. Of course - at 3.5l - the HP per liter isn't that fantastic - but it's not that bad either. Rumor has it Audi will release a 3.2 or 3.5l version of the current 3.0l cosworth designed V6 in the new A4 and A6. HP estimates are 250hp to 275hp. VW's new 3.2l VR6 will have 240hp when it gets to the US in 2004.

Er, have you driven a car with the 3.5l V6?
Horsepower is horsepower is horsepower, except at altitude, when your TT's turbo will absolutely cream the Altima in a straight line...
But have you actually driven a car with the V6 in question? It's quite sweet, and without turbos, Audi still has no comparable engine - not one with 6 cylinders, anyway.

no comparable engine? Need I remind you of of a certain biturbo V6 with 4 rings on the cover?
The Audi 2.7L V6 biturbo makes 250hp (@5800rpm) and 258ft-lbs of torque (from 1850-3600rpm)
The Nissan 3.5L makes 240hp (@5800rpm) and 246ft-lbs of torque (@4400rpm)
the big difference is obviously the torque curve...no Nissan engine can match that.
I still like the altima though...great car for the price!
