I was looking at this navigation thread and thought it would be cool to put this double din DVD player I have in the TT.

Is there a replacement console that holds double din units?!

That one is specifically made for the audi nav system, I'm just looking for one that holds a standard double din dvd player.

The double DIN bracket by Kufatec is only for the RNS-E. See link in previous thread Steve gave.

There is a generic one for 329€, ouch.

A little bit less for 270€.
It seems like the same product. And I only found it at TT Design parts by searching. So I think it may be discontinued and the other shop are sellling the last ones. But, it will require you to build a bracket for the system you wish to use.

Gone are the days when I lived in Germany where the $ was 1.22€ or more.

Aside from the OEM look, do not underestimate the RNS-E's ability to integrate with CAN. It allows the Navi to be more accurate as it can get info from the car about its speed, yaw, etc...
